An open letter to Joseph Stiglitz

Professor Stiglitz,

I was surfing and caught the last few moments of your Bill Moyers nightmare, part 1. I focused at about the point where you impugned CEOs first for smugly suggesting that they aren’t “economists” NO, they aren’t and don’t have the luxury of fleecing Columbia University families for their financial survival. They are actually accountable to the market.

Second, what you were describing, but didn’t identify, is “rent-seeking.” And, indeed they are masterful. But, eliminating every conceivable “loophole” does nothing to stem suckling from the government teet and the partnerships formed to advantage one firm over another, much as Barry Obama’s friends Jeff Immelt and Jamie Dimon have done. You may remember Dwight Eisenhower warning about the “military-industrial complex.” He warned of rent-seeking. He was right.

Serious reductions of the corporate federal income tax, perhaps to zero after eliminating “loopholes” is the obvious answer and would cause many firms to repatriate vast sums, IF, and only if our tax code and business climate promote growth.

Further, you described “loopholes” to include taxation of “capital gains” and “high frequency” trading in the same sentence – one and the same. Clearly your knowledge of tax is limited. High frequency trading is not advantaged by a lower tax rate that applies to capital assets held one year or longer.

You count on an endless supply of ignorance and ambivalence among the U.S. electorate which allows your simple moral preening. That Bill Moyers is so gullible is sad but clear.

Alas, ignorance is our most expensive commodity.

The “intelligence” Community . . . HaHaHa!

So, conveniently for Barry Hussein Soetoro Obama, we attempted a hostage recovery in Syria . . . just before Barry resumed his pathetic golf fiasco. Thank GOD, we tried and failed! I despair . . . .

Koskinen: We’re not venal. We’re incompetent

We watched John Koskinen, Commissioner at the Infernal Revenue disService testify today so you didn’t have to.  There is clearly something in the water with which Barry Hussein Soetoro Obama plies his acolytes.

Arrogant, boorish, smug – no, I’m not describing Barry – it is Koskinen projecting Barry. He not only didn’t apologize for a clear abuse of authority and law by the Internal Revenue Service, he told Congress and We the People to pound sand.  Beyond tone deaf, he shrugged off the notion that all Americans, or even any Americans,  should be concerned about a rogue agency and its unique power to destroy lives.

Most remarkable is his abandonment of credulity. He simply can’t understand why there would be questions, why there would be skepticism., why those of us, millions and millions of us, are curious.  Instead, his answer is, We are colossally, galactically dopey . . . but we mean no harm.

If Mr. Koskinen had a soul, he sold it. Cheap.

upChuck Hagel

We listened to a good deal of Chuck Hagel’s defense of Barry’s amnesty for Taliban Troglodytes. We are happy for Nebraskans no longer represented in the U.S. Senate (“The World’s most Dilettantish Body”) by Chuck.

Several things were striking. First, of course, was his push-back against “unnamed White House Sources” who drove the bus over him with some vigor, suggesting that Chuck made the final decision to release the Trogs. Anyone with a room temperature IQ would dismiss that notion, which the Mainstream Media didn’t.  Whenever there is a possibility of ugly consequences tarnishing the president, the decision is made at The White House. Period, as Barry is apt to say.  In this case, it wasn’t a possibility, it was 100% certain to draw fire . . . although apparently that was unknown only to those in The White House. Remember their mantra: We’re not malevolent. We’re incompetent.

Second was Chuck’s insistence that freeing the Fab Five did not place Americans at greater risk because “they will never return to America.” Billary Clinton and John French Kerry are equally dismissive of the notion that these bad actors are a threat.  What puzzles is why no member of the Armed Services Committee noted that there are Americans in theater who are directly threatened by these sub-humans. Two of these animals in fact, are judged “war criminals” by the United Nations, surprising indeed given its high threshold for bad behavior.

We will not hear from these freed friends of Barry as surely as Iraq won’t fall into dirty hands wasting 4,500 brave Americans who served with “honor and distinction.” “Oh wait!,” you say. Mosul and Tikrit have fallen and Baghdad is soon to slide back to the 14th century.  I rest my case.

Bowe Bergdahl and other bad odors

Imagine Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls: Franklin Delano Roosevelt, no, no no, Harry S Truman who was winding up a war (by annihilating a few hundred thousand with a nuclear device.) decided to trade away, Joseph Goebbels, Joseph Mengele, Adolf Eichmann, Hermann Goering and Heinrich Himmler for, say, Audie Murphy.  Now, we could be more dramatic and pit Hitler’s Heroes against Eddie Slovik, but that’s picking low-hanging fruit.

Audie Murphy would have dug in and declined to leave, knowing that his opposites would gladly mass murder more innocents . . .

Would our parents and grandparents have celebrated as Barry Hussein Soetoro Obama’s quislings are?

Bergdahl, Another Colossal Barry Bomb

When the news broke of the trade – five hardened America hating troglodytes for one missing American soldier – the focus was entirely on Barry again flouting the law, a requirement that he allow Congress 30 days to muse about the value of the trade.

As it happens, this “administration” again believed that, because it has an adoring press at its disposal, there would be no questions asked, just adulation.  (Well, they did expect one question: How does Barry so brilliant, tolerate us mere mortals?)

Alas, clearly the administration is unfamiliar with Al Gore’s amazing Internet and the ability of average citizens to review the historical record. Quickly we did.

We learned that Bowe Bergdahl was an apparent deserter. We learned that he sympathized with his captors, the Taliban, to whom he gladly surrendered his freedom. We learned that his colleagues made valiant efforts to “rescue” him placing themselves in harms way with some six or more dying as a product of improvised explosive devices, and perhaps more died.

We learned too that Susan Rice who assured America that Benghazi was the product of a YouTube video, and it wasn’t, lied again as comfortably, assuring us that Bergdahl’s recovery was “exigent due to his poor health. He made need a burger or two, but even by Obamacare standards he is fit. (Let’s hope he doesn’t seek medical attention at a Veterans Administration hospital! He may instead seek care from the Taliban on a timely basis.)

Now with a one year probation that can’t possibly be enforced in Qatar, the Taliban Trogs will return to their duties . . . killing Americans, its allies, and innocent Afghans, especially women affirming the Democrat’s disregard for the distaff set.

And finally, we learned that our “Progressive” friends who are defending Barry, again prove to have little regard for human life, or even “honor and distinction” as Ms. Rice described the behavior of a traitor to our country.

A Quick Constitution Quiz . . . for Quislings?

We all should know that the Constitution – often referred to as, The Owners’ Manual” – and especially its first ten amendments (the Bill of Rights for my “Progressive” friends) protect the individual from government excess. Some read the plain language askew, irrespective of an historical record that leaves no doubt of our Founders’ intent.

Can anyone tell me which doubter describes the Constitution as,  “a charter of negative liberties. It says what the states can’t do to you. [It] says what the federal government can’t do to you but doesn’t say what the federal government or state government must do on your behalf.”

Mike Morrell defends: “C.I.A. is simply incompetent . . . ” Oh.

Watching Mike Morrell, former Deputy Director and Acting Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, one cringes. He first argued that there were no political considerations in how reporting and analysis of the events occurring in Benghazi were conveyed to the White House or State Department – and presumably to the public. Not an hour later, he admitted that he personally edited out of memoranda directed to the White House, knowledge that the State Department had consciously ignored requests from the Libya diplomatic stations pleading for increased security.  His reason? He wanted to spare the State Department, “embarrassment.”  Where does he now work? With Hillary Clinton’s colleagues from the State Department.

More stunning is his insistence that his analysts disbelieved, and he agreed with his analysts, witnesses in the field, those who were reporting real-time in theater, those who were experiencing the event. From the beginning, they asserted aggressively that the attacks were not related to the video as claimed by Susan Rice.  Nor did the field representatives including the C.I.A. Station Chief believe the attacks were the result of a protest run amok. They were quite clear early on: The attacks were acts of terrorism driven by al Qaeda and its affiliates. Instead of sharing this information, his analysts, 4,000 miles away, simply chose to dismiss their colleagues, the “throw them under the bus” meme of modern “Progressive” cleverness.  And, Morrell agreed with his analysts now using them as shields as be proudly takes now responsibility for four DEAD AMERICANS.

So, as is true of this Administration always, there is never an admission of venality. Rather, about everything, they proudly claim INCOMPETENCE!  Comforting . . .
