As we near the deadline for “sequestration,” the dread remedy enacted by President Obama to slow the growth of federal spending by $80,000,000,000 – and not actually cut one damned dime – consider ways we can actually cut. Here’s one: Paid time for federal-union activities grew in 2011. Yes, we, the taxpayers, fund the unions’ anti-taxpayer ambitions which stand athwart the threshold of the doorway to fiscal sanity.
Instead, the Democrats demand that we embrace the inefficiencies of the federal workforce, a workforce protected by aggressive unions which contribute almost exclusively to the Democrat Party which they own. The Democrats argue that NO GOVERNMENT PROGRAM can be sacrificed or even improved. And they demand further that we pay the unions to extract more money from our taxpayers’ wallets. They simply demand that we embrace our ankles!
And an irony is that nearly any federal worker will tell you how easy it would be to modernize the federal workforce if only the unions didn’t spend vast taxpayer resources to protect the least able, and sometimes most dangerous employees.
What a damned system.
