In a colossal hoax Notre Dame linebacker and Heisman Trophy candidate Manti Te’o suffered his grief publicly, displaying Bill Clinton-like sincerity, the pathetic “victim” of life’s vagaries . . . his beautiful girlfriend, the love of his life, his “soul-mate” Lennay Kekua wrenched from his grasp, dead, dead from dread cancer. It was so compelling it provided the pluperfect explanation for his embarrassing play against a superior Crimson Tide squad in the BCS championship.

Alas, she wasn’t a part of his life. Nor was she part of any life. She didn’t exist.  But, the story was so compelling, so “Progressive,” so Oprah, our cracker-jack media couldn’t ask for her biography.  That simple act of “journalism” would have exposed the farce, a farce that typifies “journalism” today, message driven, agenda driven, and grossly negligent.

It does help explain how we got Barry Hussein Soetoro Obama and we can be thankful for that.  But, one wonders: have “Journalists” no shame?
