Secretary of State Billary Clinton, taking one for the team, claims responsibility for the security of American diplomatic outposts, and arguably the deaths of Ambassador Stevens and colleagues.

“I take responsibility,” Clinton told CNN in an interview while on a visit to Peru. “I’m in charge of the State Department’s 60,000-plus people all over the world, 275 posts. The president and the vice president wouldn’t be knowledgeable about specific decisions that are made by security professionals. They’re the ones who weigh all of the threats and the risks and the needs and make a considered decision.”

She added, that an investigation now under way will ultimately determine what happened at the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi.  But, we ask, “Why?” If she is responsible, the “ultimate” determination is that she happened. The question is, what is the appropriate punishment?  Perhaps we demand an immediate resignation. Or, if we are truly aggrieved and seek vengeance for her colossal failure to protect America’s interests, we demand that she remain in the employ of Barry Hussein Soetoro Obama indefinitely – a price sure to ultimately tarnish even a Clinton.

• How is being “responsible” separated from being held “accountable?”
