For a good chuckle, little matches Jay Carney’s blathering blarney, a regular Baghdad Bob if you will: Our defense: We’re incompetent and we’re sticking to it! Couldn’t Barry have found a more mature member of the objective mainstream media to propagandize his former colleagues?
As recently as Sunday last, The New York Slimes, er, Times ran a front page feature touted as “breaking news!” Allegedly G.W. Bush, then President of these United States (Do you miss him yet?) received an intelligence briefing in August 2001 in which the theme was, “Osama bin Laden is committed to striking U.S.” Given that Mr. bin Laden “declared war on the United States all the way back when Bill Clinton was canoodling Monica Lewinsky; given that bin Laden had taken credit for attacks on the U.S.S. Cole and the embassy bombing in Nairobi; and given that Billary had passed on three opportunities to dispatch bin Laden – as Barry Hussein Soetoro Obama later did so bravely – it’s fair to assume that all intell briefings carried some casual reference to the threat of al Qaeda. The “Progressive” left, “Liberals,” and even Democrats won’t abandon this trope.
Now, along comes the feckless Obama administration which defends , in a way, our sovereign territory, our embassies, with ammo free weapons. (We’re reminded: “French carbines for sale. Never fired, dropped once.”) Should Barry or Hillary, or Leon Panetta or at least David Petraeus have anticipated unrest on the ANNIVERSARY of 9/11?! One would think, but only if one is not a member of the mainstream media.
Instead, the mainstream that found G.W. Bush unable to ever be right or competent now fails to ask simple questions: Should we have been prepared? Should we have at least been on a higher alert status? How is it possible that our intell community had no sense, zero sense, for the tensions on the “Arab Street?” Where do Muslims for Barry, 2012 contribute?
Instead, the mainstream accepts without question that this was a total shock; it was not scripted; it is not directed at U.S. policies or Barry Obama; and that G.W Bush is responsible. OK, we made up the last point . . . maybe not . . .
